Internal Quality Control
• Daily standard and control calibration
• Maintenance and servicing of equipment by authorized distributors
• Single use of disposable test tubes and containers
• Use of ISO certified Reagents with valid expiry dates
• Monitoring of lab technicians
• Training and continuing Laboratory education programmes for technologists
• Assessment of technical proficiency of staff, in both collection centers and
main labs
• Verification of test results using different technology / machines
External Quality Control
• Registering with accredited Quality Control Programmes from internationally
recognized colleges ( e.g. Royal College of Pathologists, Australasia)
• Biochemistry and Haematology assessments carried out on a fortnightly
basis Anatomical Pathology assessment on a quarterly basis as prescribed
by the RCPA
• Regular review of the results by the panels of specialists from the college
and analysis of these results
• Attaining satisfactory results from the prescribed tests
