With its strong base in Singapore and existing links there, Right Healthcare Services introduced an additional service just to assist those patients as it was observed many did not really understand the Singapore healthcare system nor have any knowledge of the services and facilities available there. Understanding the Singapore Healthcare System

It is imperative to understand how healthcare systems work in overseas countries and how foreign patients would fare with regard to the use of facilities, the fees charged and benefits, if any.

The public healthcare service was designed to cater for the local population and therefore citizens and residents enjoy subsidies from the government when using the Public healthcare system. Unfortunately these same benefits will not apply to foreign patients. In fact , at the public ( or restructured hospitals ) foreigners are required to pay a surcharge for hospitalization and they can also only use services categorized as Class A ( single room service) or at most Class B1 ( Twin bedder room service). However in the private healthcare services all patients are considered the same and will be paying Class A services , the same as the local population.

Keeping in mind that some may find prices in Singapore too high, alternative destinations for advanced medical investigations and medical care may be sought at modern and advanced facilities such as Prince Court Medical Centre ( PCMC ) in KL, Malaysia where a wide range of services from Pet-CT scans to Knee joint replacements are available at reasonable prices.

In India ,Bangalore or Calcutta, HCG Enterprises offers a full range of special investigations and imaging services at very affordable prices and since they specialize mainly in cancer treatment they have advanced radiology services such as Radiosurgery and Cyberknife.Their MRI and PET-CT scan services cost only about 30-40% of the cost in Singapore.

• Meeting arrangements at Singapore Changi airport upon request

• Booking suitable lodgings, which may be rental rooms, apartments or hotels , subject to choice

• Assisting the patients during their medical appointments or procedure, including translation services
